Our Heritage: A Vision Born in 1982
In September 1982, a group of service-minded businessmen gathered in Thanjavur with a singular, profound ambition: to create a legacy of lasting value for society. As they discussed the future of our community, the timeless wisdom of our national poet, Mahakavi Bharathiyar, provided their North Star:
"To plant rare orchards or build sweet-water springs is noble; To erect a thousand inns or ten thousand temples is grand; But to grant the gift of knowledge to a single child Is a charity more sacred than them all."
Inspired by this hierarchy of service, our founders realized that while physical structures may crumble, an educated mind creates a ripple effect of progress for generations.

Our institution stands as a living monument to the extraordinary vision of our Founder. A man of immense wisdom and tireless service, he was not just a businessman, but a transformative leader who believed that the greatest charity one could offer the world was the gift of education.
A Life of Purpose and Service
Born on September 21, 1945, our Founder’s journey was one of diverse mastery. From his deep roots in the soil of Bharat Farm to the global reach of Pragadeeswarar Exports, he proved that one could be a titan of industry while remaining a humble servant of the community.
As a Senate Member of Bharathidasan University and the leader of the Chamber of Commerce Educational & Charitable Society, he dedicated his life to ensuring that quality education reached the doorsteps of the rural community in Thanjavur.
The Architect of Our Values
Though he is no longer with us in person, his philosophy remains the heartbeat of Dr. Nalli Kuppusamy Arts College. He was a guardian of our heritage, serving as a pillar of the Pragadeeswarar Temple foundations and a leader in the mercantile community of Tamil Nadu.
He lived by the words of Bharathiyar—believing that building a men or women with education was more sacred than building ten thousand temples.
An Eternal Inspiration
During his lifetime, our founder not only constructed four new temples but also successfully conducted six *Kumbhabhishekams* (consecration ceremonies). During the six phases of the *Yagasala* rituals—which precede the *Kumbhabhishekam*-he provided *Annadanam* (free food distribution) to all people, without any discrimination, daily from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Furthermore, for eight consecutive years, he provided *Annadanam*-complete with *Vada* and *Payasam*-to all members of the public attending the temple festivals, serving approximately 25,000 people annually.
His contributions to the Government of Tamil Nadu Trade Welfare Board, his leadership in international Chambers of Commerce, and his devotion to spiritual and social causes have left an indelible mark on our nation.

A highly successful businessman and the proprietor of Bharat Motors, he brings a sharp, results-oriented leadership style to the governance of Dr. Nalli Kuppusamy Arts College.
